Here Goes Nothing...

When I look at the blog for our English 15 class, I am slightly pleased because the navigation on the site is fairly easy. All of the tabs and links are labelled effectively and are extremely helpful. One thing that I do not like about the website is the font of the headings. I think this font is very distracting and sometimes hard to read. I can't decide whether I like the background or not. It is used frequently in PowerPoints and other presentations and I don't know if I find it necessary in this situation. I would like to know the reasoning behind this choice.
When making my blog, I had to choose a background, fonts, colors for multiple items, and an overall design. I chose this background because it seemed very neat and organized, but also because it wasn't too boring or distracting. I picked different serif fonts for every category because sans serif fonts, in my opinion, are very unprofessional and some can be very annoying to look at. The colors included in my blog are red and navy blue, primarily because I am an avid baseball fan and my favorite team is the Boston Red Sox. In my "About Me" section, I included where I attend school, information about my family, and how I think I am portrayed to others. I also added some interests of mine, and a few movies, music, and books that I enjoy. I decided to include my Facebook and Twitter in the "About Me" section so people would be able to learn more about me if they were interested.
Looking back at my blog, I noticed that it looks rather boring, but I am new at this "blogging" thing. As I become more familiar with this site, I am hoping to spice up my page a bit with a different design or new images. At first, I thought this process would be quite simple, but after sitting at my computer for a few hours I have realized that this is not going to be a walk in the park. Hopefully I pick up this hobby easily and am able to learn from it. I can't wait to see what my classmates have posted and learn more about them! Happy blogging!
